Level 1: Debacle

Went to get my checking account balance yesterday. I was thinking I had somewhere between $50 and -$50, due to the 30-bone overdraw fee. Wrong-uh. The money-machine told me that I was, in fact, $452 in the hole. The old take Cholde for all he’s worth bit. I’ve seen it a million times. So I go into the bank.

JC: “So is there anything I can do?”
Bank: “No, sir.”
JC: “Okay. Thank you.”

Quick.

The Plan O’ Recovery
Get it back. My budget for the past 9 months has included $6 a day for food; when I took the job at St. James I added $4 a day for breakfast at Starbucks. I plan to cut out $2 every morning at Starbucks and $3 every week-day from meals. That means existing on a $3 per day foodwise, but it also means earning “five big-ones” a pop. Including today, there are 63 weekdays between now and the end of the year. In my plan, that’s $315 I’ve gotten back. And this is not counting free pizza on Sunday in Mayflower, Audra’s home cookin’, or any other free-bees I pick up along the way. For my benefit, I plan on tracking my daily earnings/food intake on this tumblr. Feel free to check in from time-to-time to see how I’m coming along.

The Menu
I will add things as I’ve eaten them. Any item I had in my cabinet (box of spaghetti) does not count as costing me. The meat and tomato sauce I had to purchase to make the meal does count as cost.

Totino’s Pizza: $1.25
Sweet-Sue Chicken and Dumplings: $2.45 (2 meals)
Ramen Noodles: $0.20
Yogurt: $0.33
Spaghetti: $4.30 (hopefully many meals)
Can of Corn: $0.60
Snickers: $0.40
Big-ass Bag of Candy Corn: $.50
